The Launch :- Spiritual Radiance Tours

Spiritual Radiance Tours logo - 3 circles symbolizing the Mind, body and spirit coming together and forming a connection. The 7 colors are Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and magenta; representing the 7 chakras of the human body.Today, the day after a new moon, a full solar eclipse and Spring equinox, please allow me to present my new business venture – Spiritual Radiance Tours.

It has been my intention for the past few years to share my joy of travel. Within this time, I wasn’t sure what was the best method, in addition to this blog. The experiences I have gained by combining spirituality and travel has been life changing to say the least for me.

My journeys have taken me to various corners of the world, however, it has also taken me to the deep and sometimes dark corners of my inner world. Aspects of myself that I have neglected or forgotten. Aspects of myself that needed resolution. Aspects that I needed to accept as a part of me.

I am nothing without my past. I live in the present and embrace the future.

Nepali rides on top of the local bus

When I travel I like to try to immerse myself and be part of the local customs. While visiting in Nepal, I noticed the locals not only ride inside the bus, they are on the roof with cargo and animals. It was Diwali and everyone was heading home, so all the buses were extra full.

Yes, it is not safe and definitely exceed the occupancy allowance. However it looked like fun. Continue reading

Whoa! I got nominated for my very First Award!

Liebster award badgeHow cool is this!? The beautiful Kat at Kat Pegi Mana have nominated me for the Liebster award!

This is extra cool and exciting for me as this is my very first blogging award – EVER!!

Thank you so much Kat! You’ve brought a glimmer of happiness to my stressful week!!

***

What’s the Liebster award, you ask… It is an award given to bloggers with less than 500 followers. It is given from one blogger to another. The intention is to help new blogs gain more exposure, more audience – Pay it Forward.

***

The following are my answers to Kat’s questions…

1. Who or what inspired you to start blogging?

My friend suggested I share my travel photos and travel experiences and my love for travel. A couple of years later, here we are 🙂

2 . If you could wake up tomorrow somewhere other than where you are right now, where would that be?

This is a very difficult question for me to answer, as I LOVE to travel and explore new locations. If I can categorize them, I would say the following…

For sun & beach – the Maldives
For architecture – Paris, France OR Prague, Czech Republic
For diverse cuisine – Hong Kong
For ingenuity – Japan

 3. What do you never leave home without?

This is an interesting question. There’s been many times I have left my home with nothing other than the clothes on my body. No house keys. No money. However, if I was to choose something – I would say my passport. Just in case a perfect stranger hands me an airplane ticket! haha

4. What has been your favourite blog post to write?

Up to now, I would have to say my 5 part series on Why visit Antarctica.

5. If you were given an opportunity to learn a foreign language, what language would it be?

There are many languages I would like to learn or re-learn. If I can really only chose one and only one, I would have to say French – the language of love. I love Paris and French is very similar to Spanish and Italian so I can use it as a basis to help me understand the other European languages.

6. Do you prefer rain or sunshine?

Sunshine – please and thank you. However, I do not mind a bit of cloud in the sky 🙂

7. Are you a sweet or savoury person?

Savoury!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections (Angkor Wat, Cambodia)

Panoramic view of Angkor Wat at sunrise

Panoramic view of Angkor Wat at sunrise

In some ways I can be considered a morning person. Most days I naturally wake up around 7:30am – without an alarm. I might take a nap later on if my schedule allows and I mean really, who doesn’t like a nap?! Though I have noticed I wake up earliest while on the road, traveling (with the assistance of an alarm or morning calls). There have been many occasions where I woke up at 3 or 4am for a sunrise hike or early early flights. Mind boggling at first thought, all worth the experience in hindsight!

Back in April 2013, I woke up at 4am to arrive at 5am at Angkor Wat (Cambodia) for one of my treasured sunrise experience.
