Have you had a light bulb moment while reading a book?
Ever finish a book and want to tell all your friends about it?!
Well that’s me right now.
Actually, I had loads of light bulb moments while reading this book. The Road Less Traveled – A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth by M. Scott Peck, M.D. First published in 1978, it is considered a pioneer and a classic.
At the end of each year, countless people around the world look back at the events and experiences they gained in the past 365 days. From there, they make an assessment or a comparison to what they had promised themselves the year prior. More often than not, a comparison to the accomplishments of those in their social circle are made.
The endless lists. New Year Resolutions. Life goals. Promises.
It begs the question – How constructive is this exercise??? Continue reading
Wherever I travel to I tend to seek out at least one location for a bit of self-care, spa time, “Me” time. When I was in the Northern reaches of Israel early in November of 2014, I looked for a natural hot springs that is easily accessible from Tiberias.
Tiberias is a city on the Sea of Galilee. Minutes from Tiberias is the Tiberias Hot Spring which is accessible on foot or by taking the local bus. It is located at the just South of the Hamat Tiberias National Park. I found out about it when I saw it from the bus en route to my day hike in the Yehudiya National Park.
However, when I consulted with the hotel owner, he said “Don’t waste your money there, if you want to visit a proper hot spring, go to Hamat Gader!”
Whirling Dervish in Turkey
Exactly 2 months from today, I will board an airplane and fly to Istanbul, Turkey. When I land on June 1, 2014 – the beginning of a new chapter will begin in my life. How will it unfold, I am uncertain at this point. From all my travels, I have not found a fully functioning a single crystal ball that can foresee the future!!
All I can do is trust and have faith in the Universe – believe that my path will unfold the way it needs to happen.
In light of recent rape incident of a 51 year old Danish traveler in New Delhi, India I thought it’d be helpful to share some tips on how to travel safely as a single woman. I’ll admit I’ve done some dumb things in the past and been stubborn with my decisions. Luckily I’ve come out unscathed and only have stories to tell.
Pardon the bluntness but Shit happens. But it shouldn’t stop you from living your life. Continue reading
The ‘uniform’ and locker key which also keeps track of your tab.
After a hot, relaxing bath – I fondly thought of my recent visit to Spa Castle in Queens, NY. I heard about this gem prior to my visit from a friend and knew that I MUST spoil myself with a visit during my week stay in NYC.
Let me tell you, if you are anywhere close to its location, you owe it to yourself to spend a few hours if not a full day at this spa! I am definitely glad they did justice in naming this spa, it IS like castle! And I have been to many spas around the world.
If you’re a spa lover like me you definitely have to MAKE time for this place!

Ever since my first experience of a full body Thai massage in Phuket, Thailand when I was 20 years young – I was hooked for life. This started my mainstay of self-care without me realizing it on a conscious level. Massages, reflexology, acupuncture, cupping, body scrubs, hot stone massages, deep tissue massages – the list goes on and on. After some of the treatments I would come out bruised or sore but it was all worth it because for me this was the good pain that many athletes talk about after a good workout.
