As mentioned in a previous post, I am taking a bit of hiatus from posting regularly.
The posts will be sporadic and a lot less in volume than in previous months.
What do I have planned or intend to do in September??
Today I will travel to Barcelona on a train from Santiago de Compostela, Spain. The past 3 days in Santiago de Compostela is a symbolic and very truncated version of my original intention to walk the Camino (St. Jame’s way). However, I believe it was still immensely helpful for me to clear some past life matters as I reconnected with the Earth energy there. I chose to use the word “matters” as I believe the word “issues” has a negative connotations that I do not want to associate with.
After honoring my love for amazing and unique architectural designs in Barcelona, I will fly to Hamburg in hope to meet someone in person for the first time. We had met online after I left Hamburg in July.
From Hamburg, I will return to Turkey and continue my pilgrimage to the Eastern front and make my way to the Black Sea region. I do not have much details to share further than this. This is the intention though.
I bid you adieu.
Be well. Travel safe. Take care of yourself.
Good Saturday Morning from Paris, France!!
Looking at my WordPress Dashboard, it’s reminding me today it will be posting my 500th post.
I migrated my Single Woman Travels! site from Tumblr to WordPress back in November 2013. It’s been quite the journey because I traveled for 8 months in 2013 and now I’m in the middle of a 6 months pilgrimage/journey in Europe.
I have been very fortunate to have found this outlet to share my images and thoughts with you.
Thank you for your time, attention and acknowledgement of my thoughts and ideas.
Ever cross path with an animal or an insect – unexpectedly?! So much so, they startle you and stops you in your tracks??
Be it a spider, ant, frog, dragonfly, chicken, bat, goats.
I don’t mean the animals you see when you go to a zoo or pet store. I mean the animals that you encounter while minding your own business. Like a butterfly that suddenly catches your attention while you are on your daily run. That neighbor’s pet turtle which never leaves their house but suddenly is walking across your path outside.
Well recently, it keeps occurring to me. Animals capture my attention in unexpected locations at unexpected time of day. I jot down the encounters and when I get on the interweb I google them and see what they symbolize as an animal totem. Often times, the meaning as provided are immediate reminders of emotions or thoughts I have been avoiding or unaware of or have not considered. Synchronicity is at play and the Universe makes it hard to ignore. Continue reading
End of July 2014, marks 2 full months into my 2014 journey. So far I have traveled to Turkey, Greece, Germany and Switzerland.
As much as the fact that traveling opens my mind, my heart and my eyes to new culture, new thoughts, new beliefs and new experiences. Traveling also makes me reflect and appreciate what I already have and allows me to share with others my past experiences.
The word “Compare” can be viewed in different ways… Compare can lead to degradation. Compare can cause inspiration. Compare can cause insecurity. Compare can create motivation. Compare can create competition.
Coming from Toronto, Canada – I am constantly reminded all the goodness that Toronto offered – which I have taken for granted!
The saying, “You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone” – is very true.
Walking past a famous boutique hotel celebrating their 10-years anniversary, reminds me that 2014 marks my 10th year in the neighborhood as well.
2004 seems such a long time ago.
10 years – how time flies. What has happened in the last 10 years. What has changed. What has stayed the same. Continue reading
Tonight I will embark on my first overnight bus since this past April. Back then I was half way through my 2013 Epic Journey. I had stepped onto my 7th continent, Antarctica, drank water from a crevasse Perito Moreno glacier, sailed up the coast of Chile and ‘showered’ at the grand Iguassu falls. My life = Bliss.
That night in early April gave me an experience I don’t wish upon any other. Luckily no one on board was physically harmed but I believe most of us returned home with a bit of emotional and/or mental scar.
A few minutes before midnight I jolted awake from my deep slumber, remembered that I’m on a double decker bus, traveling from Brasilia to Rio de Janeiro. I just have a few more days left in Brazil before heading to Asia. I have thoroughly enjoyed taking long distance buses in South America as it’s very affordable and the top of the line buses offer leather bound seats that resembles those found in a First Class compartment on an airplane. Some bus lines in Argentina even have an attendant to offer up personal TV, champagne and full 3 course meal. Continue reading
