This is such an inspiring group of women. It is truly important to be able to express yourself authentically – for the sake of yourself and to maintain integrity.
Do as you please.
Trying to please everyone else makes life unnecessarily challenging for yourself. It’s a lot easier to focus on yourself and make yourself happy. This may be a challenging idea but I believe it’s such an important idea to live by.
I am a person who grew up constantly seeking approval, always wanting to ensure those around me are happy. It’s exhausting and stressful. Right now, as I transition into a person who puts myself first, the words: selfish, inconsiderate pops up. I may feel guilty at times but then again, if I don’t consider myself the most important person to look after, who will? Why rely on others when it’s simplest and easiest to just rely on myself for my own happiness?
Let’s drop the labels that society have taught us to use on each other. Just allow each person to be who they are truly and honestly – without judgement. Look at them with pure love and compassion – not pity or disdain.
These old “grannies” are incredible in their own right! Celebrate life and beauty! XO
